The new state of the art Sports Centre at Bury College is a £3.2 million building that provides the College with a much needed facility for the use of all campus students.

This Sports Centre is the latest addition to the Bury College campus where students benefit from a host of contemporary facilities, including a four-court sports hall, all of which is built to Sport England standards.

The build included the construction of:

The sport hall is a multi–use area for basketball, netball, indoor football, badminton and also includes four indoor cricket nets.

Taking just 36 weeks to complete, the external cladding of the building features an eye catching modern design of sports figures, designed by local architects Seven Architecture, which are embossed onto the panels. The entire roof area is taken up with Photo voltaic panels to provide electricity and Solar panels to provide a substantial percentage of the hot water required for showers, etc.

The walls of the sports hall are constructed from special ‘acoustic’ blocks, designed to minimise reverberation.

The building is built to a BREEAM –‘Excellent’ rating.
